Review of Peppermint Chocolate Truffle & Pumpkin Pie Spice International Delight Coffee Creamer

I recently tried Peppermint Chocolate Truffle and Pumpkin Pie Spice liquid coffee creamer, two of the new seasonal flavors, for free compliments of BzzAgent and International Delight.

I received:

  • Coupons for 2 FREE International Delight® Coffee Creamer (any seasonal flavor)
  • Pass-along coupons for $1 off any International Delight® Coffee Creamer

I found the Peppermint Chocolate Truffle to be comparable to the powdered Peppermint Mocha creamer I usually use, but didn't like Pumpkin Pie. I've not been one of those girls to jump on the Pumpkin flavor wagon during the fall. To test both flavors independently and failry, I made two cups of coffee. I used the vanilla flavor from a very popular coffee company as my base coffee. Both cups were made with the identical measurements of water, coffee grounds and neither had added sugar or flavorings beyond the vanilla.

Peppermint Mocha

"The rich taste of chocolate meets festive peppermint."

Sweet. Minty. Slightly bitter, but totally tolerable as is. Took four tablespoons to flavor enough to suit my taste despite serving size of 1tbsp. This flavor tasted good warm or cold, but I preferred cold.

Pumpkin Pie

"A creamy swirl of seasonal spice flavors inspired by pumpkin pie."

Faintly reminiscent of pumpkin pie. Primarily taste notes of cinnamon and cream. Flavor seemed to change upon repetitive tasting. Took four tablespoons to flavor enough to suit my taste despite serving size of 1tbsp. This flavor tasted better warm.

My only true complaint is that both contain chemicals such as polysorbate 60 and carrageenan and who knows what via 'natural and artificial flavors'. I mean come on, it's kinda fishy when both have identical ingredients yet taste so different. Yet, take out the chemicals and Peppermint Chocolate Truffle just might be a favorite! Until then, I'll stick with my former brand or just drink peppermint tea! What about you? Do you like pumpkin pie seasonal flavors?? Do they remind you of the holidays?

From International Delight:

"Coffee + cream = pumpkin-y dream. Fall is a season dedicated to delighting your senses. The softness of cozy, chunky sweaters and well-worn jeans. The crackle of bonfires and the cheering of sports fan. But most importantly is that delicious pumpkin flavor you’ve waited months for. The wait is over for that sweet aroma and velvety, spicy taste. This fall, International Delight® brings you rich, creamy Pumpkin Pie Spice (along with four other holiday flavors) to make any seasonal gathering more festive. Or simply to treat yourself to a minute of quiet, autumnal bliss. In the coming months you’ll find new seasonal International Delight® Coffee Creamers at the Kroger Co. Family of Stores and other fine retailers. Try them all before they’re gone!"
