Spent the afternoon yesterday with my family hiking a secluded trail in Mammoth Cave. We found a cave and waterfall and ended up walking two miles. It's always great to be in nature, but the back country of MC is so raw and beautiful. Wind blew through the trees like a rushing waterfall in the distance. Sunlight filtered through the canopy like gold painted in the edges of fine vintage lace. So silent and peaceful at times you could hear your own heart beat...until the sound of your toddler squeals "ooh yello flower!" Also note to all local parents...when you're crossing Green River Ferry, don't tell your 5yr old Daughter "Look, we're about to drive over a ferry!" They think Tinkerbell is about to be killed and scream, "no don't kill the fairy!" A short spelling lesson later all was well.
